Thinkpad T42 function keys
Posted by Mikhail Esteves under: General .
Ever wondered what all the function keys in the Thinkpad stand for?
- Fn-F3: Turns off the LCD display and turns the screen off. Move the mouse or press any key to turn the screen on again.
- Fn-F4: Switches to Standby mode. Press the Fn key independently to return to the normal state.
- Fn-F5: Enable/disable wireless networking features (IEEE 802.11) and the Bluetooth features.
- Fn-F7: Allows you to switch between LCD display and External display, or a combination of both. The “Presentation or Display Scheme” menu allows you to choose from pre-defined schemes.
- Fn-F12: Puts the computer into Hibernation mode. To return, keep the power button pressed for less than 4 seconds.
- Fn-PgUp: Turns the ThinkLight on. This turns on a small glow in the keyboard, useful in presentations.
- Fn-Home: Increases brightness of the display.
- Fn-End: Decreases brightness of the display.
- Fn-Spacebar: Switches between 640×480 and your default resolution.
