I’ve compiled a list of htaccess tricks here
So far, it covers:
- Enable/Disable Directory Browsing
- Customizing Error Messages
- Getting SSI to work with HTML/SHTML
- Changing Default Page order
- Blocking specific users/domains from accessing your site
- Redirecting users around your site (say an older non-existant page to a new one)
- Blocking hot-linking and bandwidth leeching
