Configuring DataOne on Mac OS X (Tiger)
Configuring DataOne on OS X is very simple.
- Open up System Preferences. Click on Network.
- Click Location and choose New Location. Give it a name, say, “DataOne”.
- Double-click “Built-in Ethernet”.
Settings for the TCP/IP Tab are as follows:
Configure IPv4: Manually
IP Address: 192.168.1.xxx (any random number below 255 should do)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.1.1DNS Servers:
61.1.96.69
61.1.96.71
For the other tabs, leave everything disabled (as it is by default) and click “Apply Now”. Your DataOne connection should start working now.
Next time you switch locations and want to use DataOne again, just click the Apple menu to the top-left, surf to Location and choose “DataOne”.
