Installing Adobe Creative Suite 3

Here’s a simple process:

1. Uninstall all Adobe and Macromedia products from your computer.
2. Restart
3. Download the Adobe CS3Clean Script

Now here’s the trick. While CS3Clean shows that you only 2 levels of cleaning, there are actually 4. Run this at your own risk. Follow the instructions in the application and when prompted for which level to use, just type 4.

Run the same thing twice.

1. Restart.
2. Run the installer.

If you find that the installer is only installing the Adobe Shared Components and nothing else, do this (thanks to Dierk Haasis and stevent):

1. Open up regedit
2. Look for these entries:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.svg
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.svgz

1. Right-click on them and set rights for the System account to full.
2. Open up Windows Explorer
3. Surf to Tools | Folder Options | File Types
4. Remove the SVG and SVGX entries.

Try installing now. Good luck!
