  • Ability to set private entries as drafts when exporting to the above blog engines
  • Ability to export only public or only private entries, or both
  • Ability to export optional export items like music or moods of each entry
  • Ability to strip HTML from exports
  • Works with the XML Backups generated by LJ.

Download Options:

  • You can download only the binary by clicking here (66 KB)
  • You can download the binary including setup wrapper, which can be uninstalled through the Control Panel, by clicking here (335 KB)

Weird, when it starts, it only gives me a single button allowing me to choose, but not create, an xml or lj file for backup… Since I don’t have one and I can’t create one, that’s kind of useless.

This actually has a GUI too? Wow! I’ll try it out once I decide to move to MT 3.0.

Al, you need to export using LiveJournal. See the How-To in the Help menu of the application. Once you have the XML file that LJ generates, you can use this application to export that into any supported format.

RTFM apparently, sorry!

But for people who are reading this, but not the docs, make sure you leave ALL the fields checked when exporting from LJ.

Is this software ONLY for Windows XP?
I’m using 98, and Microsoft Update
will not give me the option to install
.NET Framework 1.1.

I can’t start the software without
.NET Framework 1.1, but there’s NO HELP
FILES that I can look at without starting
the software… and nothing helpful on
the site that I see… so I’m going
to try something different. :P

Hmm… I wouldn’t know about that. I’ve only used it with XP. If the .NET Framework 1.1 can be installed on Windows 98, it would definitely work :)

And no, there are no help files. The utility is pretty straight forward.
